Art is human (and that’s a good thing). This work is handmade, imperfections are part of the process, and variations are not flaws.
These are penny matches, meaning they’re lightweight and thin. Occasionally they break when striking, which is the magic of using something handmade to light actual fire. Each box contains 30ish matches. This means approximately one for each day of the month, and a little wiggle room if you happen to skip a day or two of striking.

I ship out each month’s mail during the first 7 days of the month all at once. The cutoff for joining is the 20th of the previous month.
i.e. if you join by August 20th, your first matchbox will go out during the first full week of September. If you join between August 21st-September 20th, your first matchbox will be October.
Everything is shipped ground mail from Idaho, so you’ll receive it within a few days of the letters going out.

Unfortunately, I’m not above the law, and matchboxes have to be shipped via ground mail in the US. While I’d love to be able to ship worldwide, it’s just not possible.
(However, I am working on fun products that will allow people to add their own matches to some of the fun things I make!)
