Sad but Mostly Happy

I’m Sadie. No one calls me Sad.

Besides baristas with bad handwriting.

About Sadie T. Shirts C.

I’ve made a living as a professional artist in one capacity or another for over 14 years. Sad the Shop was born to let the ideas in my head run wild. So here, you’ll find my original artwork (oil paintings, drawings, and 35mm film photography), but you’ll also find handmade creations and curated secondhand finds.

My work as a photographer influences my painting framing and composition, and my work as a painter influences my use of color and light. So, you’ll find a little bit of both here (and more), because it’s all intertwined for me.

Sad the Shop is the Cage-Free, FDA approved*, gluten-tolerant home of the chaos in Sadie’s brain

Walking the line of curator, painter, designer, and artist is my specialty, but you’ll always find nostalgic design and soulful humanity at the heart of everything I do.

Everything at Sad the Shop is 100% made by me or found secondhand (or both), scout’s honor.

Call her Jack

…of all trades.

What else can’t she do?

Probably a lot. Like folding laundry right after washing. But, she does have quite a few mediums under her belt:

  • Oil Painting

  • Photography

  • Graphic design

  • Block Printing

  • Screenprinting

  • Gouache

  • An occasional stop motion, quilt, or video game
